The Challenges of Recruiting Recruiters
The year 2020 changed a lot, companies were preparing for difficult times, nobody knew what could happen. Recruiting and hiring was largely put on hold and many people lost their jobs, including many recruiters. Last year, however, the world began to recover from the crisis and companies started hiring again, and now there is a record number of vacancies.
When there are so many vacancies, there are many different factors in addition to the salary that play a role in whether people will join the company or not. Just like many others, company culture, the opportunity to develop professionally, flexibility and bonuses are important for recruiters. Such a change in expectations leads to the fact that jobs are changed more often and that means also more vacant positions that need to be filled. In fact, it could be said that there is no shortage of talent, but the expectations of talent towards employers have changed, but companies have not come to terms with it yet.
This means that recruiting the right people is more difficult, as companies that can offer more benefits get the best talent. Companies have to compete heavily with each other and employees have more choice than ever before. This again means that the recruitment process is more complicated and recruiters are definitely needed to effectively find the talents for the company.
Employers need to review the requirements and what they offer. Is the salary motivating enough? Are demands flexible? Are there biases holding back the hiring process? Have the factors that prevent recruitment been analyzed?
Tips for recruiting recruiters:
Don't just look at technical expertise – while people with some sector expertise can be good at recruiting in the same sector, you don't actually need to have engineering expertise to recruit an engineer. It would definitely be worth considering people who plan to change the field and start working in recruitment, the most attention should be paid that the person who has strong communication and organizational skills, determination and sociability.
Act quickly - if there is a high demand for candidates in a certain field, you must act very quickly. Interviews and and job offers must be made as quick as possible, otherwise someone else will.
Show respect – As always with any candidate you need to treat them with respect, if a candidate doesn't feel comfortable then you can be sure they won't be joining your company. Be specific and keep your promises, recruiters have more opportunities now than ever.
