Hiring and recruiting are both very important when company needs to fill a position or when a company expands and needs new talents. But what is the difference between the two processes?
Basically, hiring is a quick solution: there is a vacancy in the company, a job offer is posted and candidates send in their CVs and suitable candidates are interviewed.
However, recruitment is a long-term solution for filling positions and takes place on a regular basis. The purpose of recruitment is to ensure that a database of talents is available. In most cases, talent is already working somewhere, so the job offer needs to be more attractive than the position they are currently working.
When it comes to recruiting, you are constantly in touch with different people who are told about your company, its culture and the talents you are usually looking for. As a result, talents become more aware of your company, and it also helps to create an employer brand.
You can say that when you are hiring then candidates come to you and when you are recruiting then you need to contact right candidates. One is not better than the other, it all depends on the needs of your business.
